How to pack a first aid kit when traveling
The bare minimum
For those who travel with hand luggage or want to take only the bare minimum, we have compiled a basic first aid kit. It includes:
- Antiseptics. Zelenka or iodine in the form of pencils, chlorhexidine (can be bought in tablets and diluted with water), adhesive plaster.
- Painkillers. No-shpa, Nurofen, Citramon.
- Antipyretics. Paracetamol, Panadol, Solpadeine.
- For gastrointestinal disorders. Activated charcoal, Smecta, Espumisan, Mezim, Loperamide.
- Antihistamines. Suprastin, Telfast, Claritin, Zyrtec.
- Anticolds.Teraflyu, Coldrex, Maxicold.
- Electronic thermometer: mercury thermometer can be taken neither in your hand luggage, nor in your luggage.
- Sunscreen and sunscreen (Bepanten, D-panthenol, Dexpantonol). It may be useful if you’re going to the sea or the mountains.
Take one product from each section. Choose medications that work for you 100%.
The first thing you should put in your medicine cabinet is medications that you take all the time. Chronic diseases or allergies can worsen with a change of climate. And it will take time to find the necessary medicine in another region or country. And some medicines can not be bought without a prescription.
If you fly with hand luggage only, you will need to keep all liquids in one liter. Syrups, creams and ointments, as well as cosmetics and liquid products must be in small tubes – no more than 100 ml. Aerosol can be taken with you if its volume does not exceed 100 ml.
Pack a first aid kit
Preparations that you will not need during the flight should be put in the luggage. On board there is a first-aid kit with a basic set of medicines. Call a flight attendant if you feel unwell. There is also a “Doctors on board” privileges program on S7 Airlines flights. If a medical attendant travels on the same plane as you, he can help if necessary.
